TGN's Cy Young Race is a proprietary cumulative evaluation based on pitching performance across the season. It rewards run prevention, workload, strikeouts, and game impact, and penalizes baserunners and runs allowed. It is not an official voting prediction.
The Cy Young Award is presented annually to the best pitchers in Major League Baseball, one each in the American and National Leagues. The award is named after Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young (1867–1955), who recorded 511 career wins — a mark that still stands as the most in MLB history.
