Antonio Senzatela earned the win with 1.2 scoreless innings of relief, allowing no hits while improving to 4-0 on the season. The veteran right-hander entered in the eighth and shut down Arizona's offense to preserve the victory.

Stevens singled to right in the ninth inning, bringing S. Thompson home with what proved to be the decisive run. The Rockies had tied the game an inning earlier when TJ Rumfield doubled to right, scoring Hunter Goodman to make it 2-2.

Arizona took an early 2-0 lead behind Lourdes Gurriel's two RBI performance. Gurriel drove in Nolan Arenado with a sacrifice fly in the second inning, then singled home Gerardo Perdomo in the fourth. Mike Soroka pitched effectively for the Diamondbacks, allowing 4 hits and 1 run over 6.0 innings, but Ryan Thompson suffered his first loss of the season after allowing the tying run in the eighth.

The victory improved Colorado to 19-32, while Arizona's five-game winning streak ended as they fell to 26-23. Senzatela is now three wins away from 50 career victories.
