McCarthy went 2-for-4 with five RBIs, delivering the decisive blow with his 448-foot blast to right field that scored Brenton Doyle, Ezequiel Tovar and Willie Castro. The outfielder also doubled earlier in the game and now has two home runs and 14 RBIs this season.

The grand slam came off Craig Kimbrel, who entered with the game tied 2-2. McCarthy's double in the sixth had tied the game when TJ Rumfield scored, setting up the dramatic finish two innings later.

Kimbrel took the loss after allowing four runs on three hits and a walk in one inning, with his ERA now at 7.56. Antonio Senzatela earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief, striking out two while allowing one hit and one walk.

Colorado snapped a six-game losing streak to improve to 14-23, while New York's three-game winning streak ended as they fell to 14-22.
