For eight innings, Rafael Devers carried the Giants. In the ninth, the bullpen could not hold what he built. Colorado scored three times in the final frame to overturn a 2-1 deficit and walk out of Oracle Park with a 4-3 victory, dropping San Francisco to 39-55.

Devers was the story through seven innings, going 3-for-3 with a walk, a home run, and 3 RBI. He opened the scoring in the second with a solo shot to right, 347 feet, and then put San Francisco back in front in the seventh with a single to right that scored Luis Arraez. Devers even added a sacrifice fly in the ninth to make it a one-run game, but the Giants could not complete the comeback.
The Ninth Inning
Closer Caleb Kilian entered the ninth protecting a 2-1 lead and could not record an out. He allowed 3 hits and a walk, surrendering 3 runs before being lifted. Kyle Karros delivered the pivotal blow, a single to center that scored Johnston and Moniak to give Colorado a 3-2 lead. Cole Carrigg followed with a sacrifice fly to left, scoring McCarthy and extending the advantage to 4-2. Kilian took the loss, falling to 2-5. Antonio Senzatela, who threw a scoreless seventh inning, was credited with his ninth win. Juan Mejia recorded the final out for his fourth save.
Colorado's comeback obscured a solid outing from Robbie Ray, who gave San Francisco 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits with 6 walks and 4 strikeouts. Tanner Gordon matched him with 5 innings of his own, allowing 1 run on 8 hits. The game turned entirely in the ninth. The Rockies improved to 39-57 with the victory.
