The Giants led for most of the night, lost it briefly in the fourth, then reclaimed it in the fifth and never looked back. By the time Willy Adames sent a 407-foot home run to left in the eighth, the outcome had long been settled. San Francisco won 8-2, improving to 39-54.

Casey Schmitt was the engine from the first pitch. He opened the scoring in the first inning with a 420-foot home run to center, finished 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, and scored twice. Luis Arraez added a double that proved to be the go-ahead hit, and Rafael Devers drove in two runs on a pair of extra-base hits. Adames, going 1-for-5, delivered the exclamation point: his two-run homer in the eighth, his 15th of the season, pushed the lead to 8-2.
Colorado briefly seized control in the fourth when Willi Castro hit a two-run homer to left center — 391 feet, scoring Hunter Goodman — to put the Rockies ahead 2-1. The Giants answered immediately. Bryce Eldridge tied it with a solo shot to right in the bottom of the fourth. Then in the fifth, Arraez doubled to right to score Drew Cavanaugh and give San Francisco a lead it would not relinquish. Devers followed with a single to right, scoring Heliot Ramos and pushing the margin to 4-2. The eighth inning finished the story: Schmitt doubled to center to score Arraez, Devers hit a ground rule double to score Schmitt, and Adames closed it with his two-run blast.
Carson Whisenhunt earned the win, going 5.2 innings and allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. He is now 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA. Ryan Feltner took the loss for Colorado, lasting just 4.1 innings and giving up 4 runs on 6 hits with 4 walks, falling to 3-3 with a 4.55 ERA. The Giants' bullpen covered the final 3.1 innings without allowing a run.
Colorado dropped to 38-57 and has lost two straight. On the milestone front, Arraez is 10 doubles away from 200 career doubles, while Adames is 5 home runs shy of 200 for his career.
