Texas led by five runs entering the seventh inning. It was not enough. The Angels scored five times to tie the game at 6-6, and for a moment Globe Life Field went quiet. Then Wyatt Langford singled to left in the ninth, Alejandro Osuna crossed the plate, and the Rangers walked off with a 7-6 win on Thursday night.

Justin Foscue was the offensive engine for Texas, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a ground rule double, two RBI and a walk. His solo shot to center in the fourth — 429 feet — pushed the lead to 5-1, and his double in the sixth scored C. Cauley to make it 6-1. Brandon Nimmo opened the scoring with a home run to left center in the first and scored twice, finishing 2-for-4. Ezequiel Duran added a two-run homer to center in the third, a 419-foot shot that plated Nimmo and stretched the advantage to 4-1.
The Seventh Inning
Los Angeles chipped away and then broke through. Wade Meckler singled to right to score Denzer Guzman, making it 2-6. Nolan Schanuel then singled to center, scoring Meckler and Zach Neto to cut the deficit to two. Jorge Soler singled to center to score Mike Trout, and Jo Adell singled to left to score Schanuel, tying the game at 6-6. The Angels had scored five runs in the inning without a home run, stringing together singles to undo what had looked like a comfortable Texas lead. Schanuel finished 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI to lead the Angels' effort.
Nathan Eovaldi started for Texas and struck out 10 over six innings, allowing 4 runs — 3 earned — on 6 hits and 2 walks on 99 pitches. He did not factor in the decision. The Angels' bullpen allowed the game-tying runs in the seventh; closer Kirby Yates, brought in to protect the tie, allowed 2 hits and 1 run in one-third of an inning and took the loss, falling to 0-4 with a 3.15 ERA. Cole Winn earned the win for Texas, his fourth of the season, retiring the only batter he faced in his one-third inning of work.
Texas improved to 47-46. Nimmo is six RBI away from 500 for his career. Yates is five games away from 500 career appearances. Los Angeles fell to 37-57.
