The Angels did not need late innings or a comeback. They needed the first inning, and then they kept going. Los Angeles scored in five of nine frames at Globe Life Field on Wednesday, building a 13-1 final that was never in doubt after Vaughn Grissom's first-inning single brought Zach Neto home to open the scoring.

Jo Adell was the engine of the offense. He went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI. In the fourth, Adell homered to right — 359 feet — with Grissom aboard, pushing the lead to 3-0. He came back in the fifth with a 433-foot shot to center that scored Trout and Grissom, turning a 4-0 game into a 7-0 advantage. Adell now has 13 home runs and 52 RBI on the season. Grissom was equally relentless, going 4-for-5 with a double and four RBI, while Neto reached base three times and scored three runs. Mike Trout added a two-run homer to left center in the eighth, a 438-foot drive that scored Josh Lowe.

The fifth inning was where the game effectively ended. The Angels scored four runs in that frame, capped by Adell's three-run blast, to stretch the lead to 7-0. Two more followed in the sixth when Grissom doubled to right, scoring Lowe and Neto. Texas managed its only run in the eighth on a solo home run by Kyle Higashioka, a 389-foot shot to left center.

MacKenzie Gore absorbed the loss, falling to 5-8. He allowed 7 runs on 9 hits over 5.0 innings, striking out 7 but could not survive the Angels' relentless attack. The Texas bullpen covered the final four innings but allowed 6 more runs. On the Angels' side, starter Walbert Urena worked 4.0 innings, allowing just 1 hit and no runs — though he walked five. Samy Natera Jr. followed with 2.0 scoreless innings, striking out 5, and earned his first win of the season, improving to 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA.

Los Angeles improved to 37-56 with the victory. Texas fell to 46-46.
