Jose Soriano took the loss for Los Angeles, allowing three runs over five innings despite striking out four. The Angels managed just two hits against Detroit's pitching staff and committed one error that proved costly in the fifth inning.

Detroit snapped a losing streak and improved to 21-34, while Los Angeles saw its four-game winning streak end as both teams remain tied at 21-34.
