Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed on June 23, 2026, that Kyle Tucker is unavailable for that evening's game against the Minnesota Twins, though Roberts noted Tucker is feeling better.

Roberts said the plan is to keep Tucker out for the current series and target a return to the lineup on Friday. "Most likely we'll probably stay away from him this series and then, you know, with hopes of getting him back in the lineup on Friday," Roberts stated, adding that the off day would serve as a mental and physical reset. He noted that ideally Tucker would swing the bat on June 24 to maintain some activity heading into the off day, but acknowledged that if Tucker cannot do so, "we'll have a probably a tougher decision on Friday."

Roberts also addressed the status of Dolphin, saying an evaluation was scheduled for 6:00 PM. While Dolphin self-reported as good to go, Roberts explained that "doesn't carry too much weight until I hear from the medical staff." Separately, Roberts mentioned a call with Major League Baseball and the Minnesota Twins was scheduled within approximately 40 minutes to determine the status of the rain-delayed game, with batting practice already cancelled.

On the topic of Max Muncy, Roberts called this the best version of Muncy as a hitter, adding that Muncy's current numbers are his best probably since 2021. Roberts attributed the resurgence in part to elbow recovery and in part to a mindset shift. "He's bought into giving up some slug, some swing and miss to be a better hitter," Roberts explained, also noting that Muncy is in the best shape he has been in quite some time. Roberts added that Muncy's emotional consistency has improved as well: "Some of the things that he used to worry about and spike aren't doing that anymore. So his head is just much more consistent." Roberts said he is happy that Muncy is currently leading All-Star voting.

Roberts also praised Justin Rolaski as worthy of All-Star consideration based on his numbers, comparing Rolaski's situation to that of Tony Gonsolin, who made the All-Star team in a prior year under similar circumstances. On a lighter note, Roberts mentioned he is taking Muncy at his word that Muncy can still dunk a basketball, having never personally witnessed it. Roberts said the Friday lineup decision for Tucker will hinge on whether Tucker is able to get in batting activity on June 24.
