The shortstop walked and scored in the first inning before leaving the game, with Miguel Rojas taking over at shortstop. Manager Dave Roberts described the injury as more moderate than significant and indicated Betts will miss at least the next couple of games while the team evaluates his condition.
Betts hit .258 with 20 home runs and 82 RBI in 150 games during the 2025 season. Through the early portion of the 2026 season, he is hitting .179 with two home runs in 32 plate appearances.
The Dodgers have started the season with a 6-2 record. Rojas and Alex Freeland will handle shortstop duties while Betts recovers from the injury.
