The Colorado Rockies claimed left-hander Sammy Peralta off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers. Peralta has been optioned to the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate.
Milwaukee had claimed Peralta off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels in October 2025, but he made zero big league appearances for the Brewers.
Peralta posted a 7.59 ERA in five games with the Angels during the 2025 season, compared to a 4.80 ERA in nine games with the Chicago White Sox in the 2024 season. Over his three-year major league career from 2023-25, he has compiled a 5.12 ERA with a 17.3% strikeout rate and 11.2% walk rate across 30 appearances and 45 2/3 innings.
To make room for Peralta on the 40-man roster, Colorado shifted right-hander McCade Brown to the 60-day injured list. Brown had been on the 15-day injured list with shoulder inflammation.
