The Baltimore Orioles optioned Dean Kremer to Triple-A Norfolk, removing the right-hander from consideration for the Opening Day roster.
Kremer led the Orioles in wins (11) and innings (171 2/3) during the 2025 season. However, he struggled early in the year with a 7.04 ERA across six March/April starts before posting a 3.57 ERA over his final 25 outings.
The pitcher has been a staple of the Orioles rotation for much of the past six seasons, recording a 4.26 ERA over 671 2/3 innings in 126 games (123 starts) over that span. This marks his first option to the minors since September 12, 2021.
The Orioles acquired Shane Baz in a trade with the Rays on December 19 and signed Chris Bassitt to a one-year, $18.5 million deal, adding depth to their rotation options.
