Alexis Díaz Outrighted by Braves, Becomes Minor League Free Agent

The Atlanta Braves outrighted reliever Alexis Díaz off their 40-man roster, making him a minor league free agent.

According to MLB Trade Rumors, Díaz walked five batters and gave up five runs (four earned) in 2 2/3 innings with the Braves after being claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers in early September 2025. The source reported that Díaz had a difficult 2025 season between three teams, giving up 17 runs over 17 2/3 big league frames, and also struggled to a 5.61 ERA across 25 2/3 Triple-A innings.

Per MLB Trade Rumors, Díaz made $4.5 million in the 2025 season during his first trip through arbitration and had recorded 28 saves with Cincinnati in the 2024 season as a former All-Star closer.
