Joe Musgrove is expected to open the 2026 season on the injured list due to slow recovery from Tommy John surgery, manager Craig Stammen said.
The Game Network — Where History Is Kept
Musgrove hasn't pitched since the 2024 season due to Tommy John surgery that cost him the entirety of the 2025 campaign. From 2021 through 2024, the now-33-year-old righty posted a 3.20 ERA over 559 1/3 innings for his hometown club, fanning a sharp 25.5% of opponents against a terrific 6.1% walk rate.
The Padres pitcher hasn't thrown in more than a week as he continues his rehabilitation process.
