The San Diego Padres placed Miguel Andujar on the injured list with a wrist injury. Andujar is removed from the active roster as a result of the move.
Andujar, 31, has been a regular contributor for San Diego this season. In 74 games, he is batting .259 with 62 hits, 20 doubles, five home runs, 22 RBIs and an OPS of .726 across 239 at-bats, adding 24 runs scored and two stolen bases.
The Padres sit at 50-51 (.495) and rank third in the NL West, 13.5 games back, though they carry a one-game winning streak into this transaction. San Diego's active roster currently features 14 pitchers, seven infielders, three outfielders and three catchers, and the loss of Andujar thins an infield group already stretched thin.
This is not Andujar's first trip to the injured list this season. He was previously placed on the IL on June 14 before being activated on June 22, following an injury status change reported on June 17 and an initial injury report on June 10.
