Eugenio Suarez Placed on Injured List with Oblique Injury

The Cincinnati Reds have placed Eugenio Suarez on the injured list with an oblique injury on April 27.

The 34-year-old infielder was batting .231 with 3 home runs and 11 RBIs in 25 games this season. Suarez posted a .663 OPS across 91 at-bats before the injury.

The move comes as Cincinnati sits atop the NL Central with an 18-10 record. The Reds currently carry 5 infielders on their active roster following Suarez's placement on the IL.

Suarez is approaching several career milestones, sitting 45 hits away from 1,500 career hits and 40 RBIs from 1,000 career RBIs. He also needs 35 doubles to reach 300 for his career.
