Jorge Soler went 1-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI, and Jo Adell matched him with a 1-for-4 night that included his own home run and 2 RBI. In the fourth inning, Soler homered to center on a 419-foot shot to make it 2-0, and two batters later Adell went deep to center, a 446-foot blast that also brought home Schanuel to push the score to 4-0. The Angels grabbed the lead in the first when Soler grounded into a fielder's choice to shortstop, plating Trout while Grissom was out at second, making it 1-0. San Francisco chipped into that margin in the fifth, when Arraez grounded into a fielder's choice and Adames scored on a throwing error by shortstop Neto, cutting it to 4-1. The Giants got another bite in the ninth when Arraez doubled to right, scoring both Cavanaugh and Adames to make it 4-3, but they could get no closer.
