For eight innings, Eury Perez owned this game. Then one swing in the ninth undid all of it. William Contreras hit a three-run homer to center off Peter Fairbanks, and the Brewers turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 win over the Marlins at American Family Field.

Contreras finished 1-for-2 with the homer, three RBIs and a run scored. The blast came with Jackson Chourio and Brice Turang aboard, and both scored on the play. It was the only hit Contreras needed. He entered the night with 95 career home runs, sitting five short of the 100 mark.
The Marlins had taken the lead in the third when Esteury Ruiz homered to left, a 420-foot shot that snapped a scoreless tie and made it 1-0. That score held until the ninth, when Milwaukee's bottom of the order flipped the game. Fairbanks entered in relief and retired just one batter, allowing two hits and three runs before Contreras' homer put Milwaukee ahead for good.
Perez was brilliant across six innings for Miami, allowing just one hit and no runs while striking out nine with three walks. He departed with the lead intact, but the bullpen could not hold it. Fairbanks took the loss after facing four batters and recording only one out, charged with three runs on two hits. Robert Gasser had kept Milwaukee in range with five innings of one-run ball, and Grant Anderson worked a scoreless ninth to pick up the win, his third of the season.
Milwaukee's bullpen combined for four scoreless innings, while Miami's relievers were charged with three runs across 2.1 innings. The win extended Milwaukee's winning streak to three games, improving the Brewers to 62-37 and holding their spot atop the division. Miami fell to 52-48, its sixth straight loss.
