Brandon Young made a five-run night look easy. The Orioles starter worked into the eighth, allowing just one run, and Baltimore's offense did the rest, beating the Astros 5-2 for their seventh straight win.

Young went 7.0 innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 run (1 earned), walking 1 and striking out 7. He needed only 95 pitches to get through seven, and the outing lifted him to 8-2 on the season with a 3.25 ERA. Grant Wolfram closed it out with a scoreless inning, his first save of the year, working around no hits in his 1.0 inning of work.
Baltimore broke through in the third when Gunnar Henderson singled to left to score Jackson Holliday, putting the Orioles ahead 1-0 and giving them a lead they would not relinquish. Henderson added a run himself moments later, stealing home to make it 2-0. Houston answered in the bottom half when Yordan Alvarez doubled to right, driving in Jose Altuve, but the Astros never got closer than that for the rest of the game. Baltimore pulled away in the fifth as Leody Taveras singled to left to bring home both Pete Alonso and Taylor Ward, and Coby Mayo added a solo home run to right center in the sixth, his 384-foot blast making it 5-1.
Hunter Brown took the loss for Houston, his first of the season, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits over 4.2 innings while walking 6. The Astros' bullpen limited further damage, combining for 4.1 innings and 1 run, but Houston's offense could only answer with Altuve's solo homer to left in the eighth, cutting the deficit to 5-2 and no closer. Altuve finished 2-for-4 with the homer and 1 RBI, and Mayo went 2-for-4 with a homer and an RBI of his own for Baltimore.
The win pushed Baltimore to 49-51 and extended their winning streak to seven games. Houston fell to 47-54, having now lost four straight.
