The Mariners opened the scoring in the second when Victor Robles hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Josh Naylor to give Seattle a 1-0 lead. Crawford's double later in the inning brought home two more, making it 3-0. The fourth-inning damage began with We. Wilson's solo homer, then Arozarena's three-run blast capped the burst and put the game away.

Tampa Bay starter Ian Seymour absorbed the punishment, allowing 6 runs — 5 earned — on 6 hits and 3 walks over 3.1 innings, throwing 78 pitches before departing.
