McCann was the story. Going 2-for-4 with 4 RBI, he capped the sixth-inning outburst with a three-run homer to left that stretched the lead to 6-0, then added a solo shot to left center in the eighth. Nolan Arenado also went deep in the eighth, a solo homer to left. Tim Tawa contributed a 3-for-5 night with 2 RBI, and Max Kepler drove in 2 runs on a pair of sacrifice flies.
Arizona took the lead for good in the fourth, when Moreno scored on a Tawa groundout to make it 1-0. The game broke open in the sixth. Perdomo scored on Kepler's sacrifice fly, Moreno scored on Tawa's double, and then McCann's three-run homer to left — 375 feet — pushed the lead to 6-0. Los Angeles answered with 2 runs of its own in the bottom half, as Andy Pages singled home Edman and Mookie Betts singled home Pages, but the deficit was too deep to overcome.
