Kyle Bradish was in command from the first pitch. The right-hander held the Angels scoreless across eight innings, striking out nine and allowing just six hits and one walk on 101 pitches. Baltimore never needed more, winning 6-1 at Angel Stadium on Sunday.
Bradish allowed nothing and asked for little. His eight-inning shutout effort — the Angels' lone run came in the ninth against the bullpen — was the kind of start that makes a lineup feel helpless. He picked up his fifth win against seven losses, carrying a 3.84 ERA.
The Orioles gave him everything he needed early. Taylor Ward opened the scoring in the first, homering to center 419 feet. Then the fourth inning settled it: Coby Mayo hit a three-run homer to left, 368 feet, with Henderson and Alonso scoring ahead of him to push the lead to 4-0. Pete Alonso added a sacrifice fly in the fifth, scoring Jeremiah Jackson. In the seventh, Ward scored on a Gunnar Henderson triple to right, extending Baltimore's advantage to 6-0.
Sam Aldegheri absorbed the loss for Los Angeles, lasting just 4.2 innings and allowing 5 runs on 5 hits. He falls to 2-3 with a 5.47 ERA. Jorge Soler provided the Angels' only offense, a solo homer to left in the ninth.
Baltimore extended its winning streak to two games and improved to 37-42. Los Angeles, also on a two-game winning streak entering the night, dropped to 32-47.
