Soto went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and one run, delivering the decisive blow with a 433-foot homer to right center that scored five runs in the sixth inning. Marcus Semien added a two-run homer in the second inning, going 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs. Carson Benge opened the scoring with a solo homer to center in the first inning.
The Mets broke open a 3-1 game in the fourth when Luis Torrens singled to right, scoring Brett Baty and A.J. Ewing. Two innings later, Bo Bichette walked to force in Semien before Soto's grand slam extended the lead to 10-1.
Nolan McLean earned the win with five innings of two-hit ball, allowing one run while walking five and striking out two. John King took his first loss of the season, allowing two runs over 1.2 innings for Miami. David Peterson closed out the final four innings for his first save, allowing one hit and striking out three.
