Jackson Chourio answered for Milwaukee with a two-run homer to center in the fifth inning that brought Yelich home and cut the deficit to 4-3. The Brewers tied it in the eighth when Bauers grounded out to second, scoring Chourio.
Kai-Wei Teng allowed 3 runs over 5.0 innings for Houston, walking four while striking out seven. Alimber Santa took his first loss of the season, allowing 1 run in 1.0 inning of work in the 10th. Abner Uribe earned the win for Milwaukee with a scoreless 10th inning, and Trevor Megill recorded his seventh save.
Milwaukee extended its winning streak to three games and improved to 33-20. Houston fell to 26-32 despite the strong offensive showing from Smith.
