The power display started early and never stopped. Atlanta hammered Miami 9-3 behind a parade of home runs that turned a close game into a rout by the middle innings.
Michael Harris went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI, bookending the scoring with solo shots in the first and ninth innings. Mike Yastrzemski added three hits including a home run and double, scoring twice and driving in two runs. The Braves collected 13 hits against Miami pitching.
Harris II homered to center in the first inning, scoring Acuña Jr. for a 2-0 lead. Yastrzemski extended the advantage with a solo homer in the second. Miami answered with back-to-back home runs from Owen Caissie in the third and Kyle Stowers in the fourth to cut the deficit to 3-2. But Acuña Jr. singled home two runs in the fifth, and Yastrzemski doubled home another in the sixth to break the game open.
Spencer Strider earned the win with 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits while striking out 9. Sandy Alcantara took the loss, giving up 6 runs on 9 hits over 6 innings with 3 strikeouts. Stowers provided the lone bright spot for Miami with two home runs.
Atlanta extended its winning streak to two games and improved to 34-16. Miami fell to 22-28 with its second straight loss. Ozzie Albies sits two stolen bases away from 100 career steals.
