The game was over in the second inning. Atlanta scored four times in the frame to take control and never looked back, defeating Los Angeles 7-2 at Dodger Stadium behind a masterful performance from Bryce Elder.
Elder dominated through 5.2 innings, allowing just one hit while striking out eight and walking four. The right-hander improved to 4-1 with a 1.81 ERA, holding the Dodgers scoreless until departing in the sixth.
The decisive second inning began when White singled to center, bringing Riley home to open the scoring. Dubon then doubled to left, clearing the bases as Harris II, Mateo and Murphy all scored to make it 4-0. The Braves added insurance runs late, with Baldwin homering to left center in the eighth and Olson following with a solo shot to center in the ninth. Mateo capped the scoring with an RBI single that brought Yastrzemski home.
Justin Wrobleski absorbed the loss for Los Angeles, allowing 7 runs over 8.2 innings despite striking out seven. The Dodgers managed just two hits until the eighth, when Muncy's two-run homer to right brought Tucker home and provided their only offense of the night.
Atlanta improved to 27-13 and snapped a losing streak. Los Angeles fell to 24-15 after the defeat.
