Colt Emerson signed an eight-year extension with the Seattle Mariners.
The extension is worth $95 million guaranteed with an $11.9 million average annual value. The deal includes a club option for the 2034 campaign and a full no-trade clause. The 20-year-old's deal tops the previous record guarantee for a player without any MLB service time previously held by Jackson Chourio by $13 million.
Emerson posted a 13.1% walk rate and 32 extra-base hits in 90 games at High-A during the 2025 season. After earning a promotion to the upper minors, he slashed .293/.383/.470 in 188 plate appearances across 40 games between Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Tacoma in 2025.
Seattle selected Emerson onto the 40-man roster to finalize his major league contract but immediately optioned him back to Triple-A. Emerson was promoted from High-A to Double-A Arkansas and Triple-A Tacoma during the 2025 season.
