Atlanta led for most of the night. Then the sixth inning arrived, and Texas turned a two-run deficit into a lead it would not give back. The Rangers held on for a 7-6 win over the Braves at Truist Park.

Evan Carter was named the game's MVP after going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a walk. His two-run shot in the sixth, which scored Ezequiel Duran, pulled Texas even at 5-5 and flipped the momentum after Atlanta had built a two-run cushion in the third. Carter's blast came off reliever O. Murphy's successors and set up the decisive frame that followed.
Moments after Carter's homer tied the game, Brandon Nimmo delivered the go-ahead blow, singling to center to score both Wyatt Langford and Joc Pederson and push Texas in front 7-5. That sixth-inning burst accounted for four runs overall, turning a tight game into a lead the Rangers would not relinquish. Atlanta answered with one run in the bottom of the seventh on a Mauricio Dubón double that scored Michael Harris, but could not draw any closer.
Atlanta starter O. Murphy lasted just 2.2 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) as Texas starter MacKenzie Gore worked around trouble of his own, going 5.2 innings and allowing 5 runs, all earned, while striking out 7 and picking up the win to improve to 6-8. The Braves' bullpen, which covered 6.1 innings and allowed 4 runs, could not hold the line after Kinley surrendered 3 runs in just a third of an inning and took the loss, falling to 5-4. Jacob Metz worked 1.1 scoreless innings to close it out for his 19th save.
Michael Harris homered and finished 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored for Atlanta, and Eli White also went deep, driving in 2 runs. For Texas, Nimmo finished with 3 RBIs and reached 500 career RBIs with his sixth-inning single. Pederson, who also homered in the first inning, sits at 199 career doubles, one shy of 200. Texas improved to 50-48, snapping in with a win after a loss, while Atlanta fell to 56-41.
