Cal Quantrill set the tone for the Rangers on the mound. He worked four scoreless innings, allowing 2 hits, walking 1, and striking out 5 on just 55 pitches. With a 3.31 ERA, he handed a 6-0 lead to the bullpen before Toronto began its response.
Dylan Cease absorbed the loss, falling to 4-4. He lasted 4.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits while walking 5 and striking out 10 on 107 pitches, carrying a 3.02 ERA. Toronto mounted a partial answer — Yohendrick Pinango homered to right center in the fifth, a 415-foot two-run shot that scored Ernie Clement, and Alejandro Kirk added a solo homer to left in the sixth. A run-scoring single by Giménez made it 7-4, but the Rangers' bullpen held from there.
