Jacob Misiorowski dominated from first pitch to last, striking out 15 batters in a complete game shutout as Milwaukee defeated Philadelphia 6-0 at American Family Field.
Misiorowski (8-2) allowed just one hit over nine innings, walking none on 95 pitches. The right-hander carried a 1.34 ERA into the game and needed no help from his bullpen, retiring the final 21 batters he faced after allowing a leadoff single in the second inning.
The Brewers struck early when Yelich scored on William Contreras' double to right in the first inning. Mitchell scored on a Painter wild pitch in the second, then Jake Bauers broke the game open with a three-run homer to left center in the fifth inning, scoring Turang and Contreras. Jackson Chourio added the final run with an RBI single in the sixth, bringing home Ortiz.
Andrew Painter (1-7) took the loss for Philadelphia, allowing five runs on five hits over five innings. Tanner Banks (0-4) surrendered one run in the sixth inning. The Phillies managed just one hit against Misiorowski's overpowering performance.
Milwaukee snapped a two-game losing streak to improve to 41-25, maintaining first place in their division. Philadelphia fell to 37-31 despite entering on a one-game winning streak.
