The fourth inning decided everything. Owen Caissie homered to right field, scoring Heriberto Hernandez to make it 3-0. Otto Lopez followed with an RBI single that scored Javier Sanoja. Kyle Stowers then launched a three-run homer 425 feet to right, scoring Liam Hicks and Lopez to extend the lead to 7-0.
Ryne Nelson absorbed the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits over four innings. The Arizona starter struck out two and walked one, falling to 2-5 on the season with a 5.19 ERA.
Miami extended its winning streak to three games and improved to 32-35. Arizona snapped a winning streak and fell to 34-32.
