His solo shot in the first inning gave Kansas City a 1-0 advantage, then his sacrifice fly in the ninth scored Tyler Tolbert to even the score at 2-2. Witt followed with an RBI single that scored J. Rojas for the decisive run.
The Twins had taken a 2-1 lead in the eighth when Orlando Arcia homered to left field. Arcia went 1-for-1 with a home run and one RBI in his brief appearance. Minnesota had earlier tied the game 1-1 in the fifth on Tristan Gray's sacrifice fly that scored Austin Martin.
Joe Ryan pitched effectively for Minnesota, allowing one run on six hits over six innings with five strikeouts. Eric Orze took the loss after surrendering two runs in one inning of relief. Matt Strahm earned the win for Kansas City, while Alex Lange recorded his third save with a scoreless ninth inning that included three strikeouts.
Kansas City snapped a one-game losing streak and improved to 25-39. Minnesota fell to 30-35 despite the strong start from Ryan.
