The game turned in one devastating inning. The Dodgers scored five runs in the fourth to break open what had been a manageable deficit, cruising to a 10-1 victory over the Angels at Angel Stadium.
Roki Sasaki dominated over seven innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits with 8 strikeouts and no walks. The right-hander threw 91 pitches to earn his second win of the season, carrying a 5.09 ERA. Sasaki retired the side in order four times and never allowed more than one baserunner in any inning.
The fourth inning buried the Angels. Ohtani singled to right to score Rojas and T. Hernández, extending the lead to 4-0. Pages followed with a single to left that brought home Kim and Ohtani. Tucker capped the rally with a single to center that scored Freeman, giving the Dodgers a 7-0 advantage before the Angels could respond.
Grayson Rodriguez lasted just 3.2 innings for the Angels, allowing 7 runs on 7 hits with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. Rodriguez threw 79 pitches and took his first loss of the season. His ERA: 17.18. The Angels managed only one run when Moncada singled to right to score Schanuel in the bottom of the fourth.
The Dodgers extended their winning streak to four games and improved to 28-18. The Angels dropped their fifth straight game and fell to 16-30.
