Nathan Eovaldi dominated through seven shutout innings, and Jake Burger drove in four runs as Texas routed Houston 8-0 at Daikin Park on Sunday.

Eovaldi (5-4) allowed five hits and struck out eight over seven innings, carrying a 3.62 ERA. The right-hander walked two and threw 94 pitches in his most commanding performance of the season.

The Rangers broke through in the fifth when Burger homered to right, scoring Osuna for a 2-0 lead. Texas pulled away in the seventh with a four-run outburst. Burger doubled to left, scoring Pederson and Duran to make it 4-0. Higashioka followed with a two-run single to center, bringing home Osuna and Burger. Nimmo capped the inning with an RBI double, extending the lead to 7-0.

Peter Lambert (2-4) took the loss for Houston, allowing five runs on three hits over six innings. The left-hander struck out six and walked two, with his ERA at 3.57. The Astros managed just five hits and never mounted a serious threat against the Texas pitching staff.

Higashioka added a solo homer in the ninth to complete the scoring. Burger finished 2-for-4 with four RBI, moving within four home runs of 100 for his career. Nimmo's double brought him four away from 200 career doubles. Texas snapped a two-game losing streak to improve to 21-24, while Houston's winning streak ended at two games as they fell to 19-28.
