Schmitt went 4-for-5 with three RBIs, launching solo shots in the first and fifth innings. His second homer, a two-run blast to right field in the fifth, scored Luis Arraez and extended San Francisco's lead to 5-0. Willy Adames added three hits and two RBIs, including a two-run single in the third that scored Arraez and Jung Hoo Lee.

Oakland mounted a late rally in the eighth when Brent Rooker homered to left field, a three-run shot that scored Nick Kurtz and Shea Langeliers and cut the deficit to 6-4. The blast capped a 2-for-4 performance for Rooker, who drove in all three of his team's final runs.

Trevor McDonald earned the win for San Francisco, allowing one run over 6.2 innings while scattering five hits and striking out five. Luis Severino took the loss for Oakland, surrendering five runs on 10 hits across six innings with seven strikeouts.

The victory improved San Francisco to 18-27, while Oakland fell to 23-21 despite snapping their own losing streak. Rafael Devers collected two hits for the Giants and sits two doubles away from 300 career doubles.
