Edward Cabrera took the loss for Chicago, allowing five runs on seven hits over five innings. The Cubs managed just four hits total against Texas pitching and failed to score for the first time in 11 games.

Texas snapped a two-game losing streak to improve to 17-21. Chicago's 10-game winning streak ended as they fell to 27-12. Pederson sits seven doubles away from 200 career doubles.
