Munetaka Murakami delivered the decisive blow with a three-run homer that capped the rally. The slugger finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs, carrying a .243 average with 12 home runs this season. Miguel Vargas added a solo shot later in the frame, while Andrew Benintendi's two-run double earlier in the inning brought the White Sox within striking distance.

Jack Kochanowicz pitched effectively for the Angels through six innings, allowing just two earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts. His effort was wasted when Nick Sandlin entered in the seventh and failed to record an out, surrendering three runs on two hits. Jorge Soler provided most of Los Angeles' offense with three RBIs, including a sacrifice fly and a solo homer.
