The game was decided in the first inning. Houston scored twice before Colorado recorded an out, then rode Spencer Arrighetti's dominant pitching performance to a 3-1 victory over the Rockies at Daikin Park.

Arrighetti earned his first win of the season, striking out 10 batters over six innings while allowing just two hits and one run. The right-hander walked four but consistently worked out of trouble, carrying a 1.50 ERA. Enyel De Los Santos closed with two strikeouts in a perfect ninth for his second save.

The Astros struck immediately in the first. Walker hit a sacrifice fly to right to score Correa, then Smith followed with another sacrifice fly to left that brought home Alvarez for a 2-0 lead. Alvarez added insurance in the third with a solo home run to right that traveled 375 feet.

Colorado managed just one run against the Houston pitching staff. Castro doubled to center in the second inning to score Tovar, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Jose Quintana took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits over 3.2 innings with four walks.

Houston snapped a losing streak to improve to 7-11. Colorado extended its losing streak to five games and fell to 6-11.
