Ohtani said the blister did not significantly limit his pitch selection during the outing, but noted the final two runs he allowed felt wasteful. "The last two runs — I felt those were a bit of a waste," he said. He also acknowledged that his pitch count and movement patterns had some effect on his performance in the seventh inning.
On pitch selection, Ohtani noted he could have used his splitter more but chose to lean on his fastball since it was working well.
