The Houston Astros right-hander was warming up for the second inning but summoned the catcher and training staff to the mound before departing. The severity of the injury remains unknown at this time.

Javier posted a 4.62 ERA with a 2-4 record in 8 games during the 2025 season. He had a 3.89 ERA with a 3-1 record in 7 games during the 2024 season.

The injury comes after Hunter Brown landed on the injured list due to a shoulder strain. Jake Meyers also left the game with lower back tightness after grabbing at his oblique area during a plate appearance.
