The Game Network — Where History Is Kept

Griffin posted a .333/.415/.527 slash line across three levels of the minors in the 2025 season with 21 home runs, 23 doubles, four triples, and 65 stolen bases in 122 games. He started the 2026 season at Triple-A Indianapolis, where he went 7-for-16 (.438) with three stolen bases and three doubles in five games before being called up to the majors in April 2026. Griffin has posted a .176/.300/.235 slash line in his first five major league games.

The extension makes Griffin the highest-paid player in Pirates franchise history. The deal gives Pittsburgh three additional years of team control over Griffin, who will hit free agency ahead of his age-29 season when the contract expires in 2034.
