The Yankees traded infielder Jorbit Vivas to the Washington Nationals for right-hander Sean Paul Liñan.

Vivas, 25, hit .161/.266/.250 with one homer over 66 plate appearances for the Yankees in the 2024 season after making his Major League debut that year. The infielder has hit .271 with 52 homers, 94 steals and a .782 OPS over seven Minor League seasons.

Liñan, a 21-year-old Colombian right-hander, struck out 106 batters over 77 1/3 innings across four levels in the 2025 season.

The Yankees acquired Vivas from the Dodgers with lefty reliever Victor González for shortstop Trey Sweeney in 2023.
